Set in a rundown Montreal apartment building, Balconville tells the story of a group of working-class tenants struggling to make ends meet. There's Mrs. Silverman, a lonely widow who spends her days watching the world go by from her balcony; Mr. Levine, a Holocaust survivor who is haunted by his past; and the young couple, Joe and Angie, who are trying to raise a family in a cramped and dangerous neighborhood.

As the tenants interact with each other, their stories unfold, revealing their hopes, dreams, and fears. They share their joys and sorrows, their triumphs and setbacks. And through it all, they learn to rely on each other for support and friendship.

The characters in Balconville are unforgettable. They are fully realized, complex individuals who stay with you long after you finish reading the play.
