In the summer of 2015, I embarked on a two-thousand-mile trek along the Donner Trail, a historic overland route across the United States. The trail follows the path of the ill-fated Donner-Reed party, a group of pioneers who set out from Independence, Missouri, in 1846 and became stranded in the Sierra Nevada mountains during the winter of 1846-47.

My journey began in Independence, Missouri, where I visited the National Frontier Trails Museum. The museum tells the story of the Donner-Reed party and other pioneers who traveled the overland trails. I spent several hours exploring the museum and learning about the challenges that the pioneers faced.

From Independence, I traveled west along the trail, following the path of the Donner-Reed party. The trail took me through a variety of landscapes, including prairies, forests, and mountains. I hiked through some of the most beautiful scenery in the United States, and I also encountered some of the most challenging terrain.

Along the way, I met many interesting people. I talked to historians, ranchers, and other travelers. I learned about the history of the trail and the people who have traveled it. I also learned about the natural history of the region and the challenges that the pioneers faced.

My journey culminated at Sutter's Fort in California. Sutter's Fort was the end of the Donner Trail and the beginning of a new life for the pioneers who survived the journey. I spent several days exploring the fort and learning about its history.

My two-thousand-mile trek along the Donner Trail was an amazing experience. I learned a great deal about the history of the United States, the people who have traveled it, and the challenges that they faced. I also saw some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.

If you are interested in history, adventure, or the American West, I highly recommend reading My Two Thousand Mile Trek of Raw Discovery Along The Donner Trail. It is a fascinating and informative book that will give you a new appreciation for the pioneers who settled the United States.
